Efficiency and Growth Project

Worsley Alumina is planning to increase production at its refinery to 4.4 million tonnes a year.
The expansion is based on a $900 million construction project to upgrade the capacity of mining and refinery facilities at Boddington and Worsley.

A comprehensive Environmental Review and Management Program (ERMP) has been prepared to address environmental and social factors associated with the project.
Worsley has also developed an economic plan to ensure that local businesses and communities benefit from the construction work and ongoing operations.
The planning is part of a feasibility study into a Growth and Efficiency project to establish Worsley as the biggest and most efficient alumina refinery in the world.

Worsley has prepared an Environmental Review and Management Programme (ERMP) which sets out management strategies for environmental issues associated with the expansion and ongoing operations of the refinery.

The documents are available to the public.
